Marriage seminars and conferences are the ideal format to bring the encouragement and instruction necessary for building healthy and vibrant marriages.  Most pastors recognize the need for such instruction in a culture where adultery is prevalent and divorce commonplace. The average pastor's schedule is packed with sermon preparation, administrative tasks, counseling appointments, committee meetings, feduciary responsibilites; not withstanding commitment to his own marriage and family. 


John and Liz Heywood are well aware of these pressures as they have raised two sons and cultivated a 28 year marriage. Since 1983, they have been involved in fulltime ministry. Four of those years they pioneered and pastored a successful church plant in So. California. John and Liz understand the challenge of ministering to the needs of the whole congregation. EMBRACE is an excellent resource which will allow your church to experience quality teaching through the life-giving principles that the Heywoods have learned from the scriptures and years of helping couples navigate troubled waters. They believe that building intimacy with God and each other is at the core of every healthy marriage. Topics of instruction include: Developing a Spiritual Life Together, Understanding the Emotional Needs of Husband and Wife, the Difference between Romance and Intimacy, the Components of a Healthy Physical Relationship and Learning Communication Skills and Conflict Resolution. Each seminar or conference is tailored to fit the needs of your church. It can be presented in a half-day seminar or a week-end conference or whatever time frame best suits the needs of your people.

John has been on the Pastoral Staff at East Bay Fellowship in Danville, CA. since l992. In January 2001, EMBRACE was formed as an extension of EBF's outreach to the body of Christ. John and Liz Heywood believe in the importance of accountability and come under the oversight and direction of Ron Pinkston, Senior Pastor of East Bay Fellowship.
