Danger Signs in Marriage

John:   When was the last time you heard that one of your friends was going through a divorce and you thought to yourself; “I didn’t even know they were having problems!”  Many couples find themselves surprised by the complexity & and severity of their issues.  By the time they seek help; it’s often too late to salvage the relationship. 

Liz:   What are some of the danger signs to look for? 

John:   One of the first danger signs is the inability to revolve conflicts which can lead to resentment and bitterness.  When one spouse starts to withdraw emotionally from the relationship is another. 

Liz:   One of the most common indicators is when communication breaks down.  This is a sure sign that the marriage is in trouble because communication is the lifeblood of the relationship. 

John:   Other signals include withdrawing physically, abusive language, irresponsible spending, and substance abuse; just to name a few. 

Liz:   If you recognize any of these signs in your relationship; we encourage you to seek help right away.  The Bible says if you lack wisdom, ask God and He will give it to you generously. 

John:   Blessed is the person who doesn't walk in the counsel of the ungodly.
