How to Cherish Your Wife

Liz:   Every woman I’ve ever met, has the need to feel special.  No one can meet that need better than her husband.  Now every woman is different.  But I think there is a common thread that runs throughout.
For instance, we all want to feel that our husband is attracted to us & that we are beautiful.  We want our husbands to only have eyes for us & we want them to be faithful.  “Tell me that you love me!”  Instead of “show me the money,” show me that you appreciate me!

John:   The best way to look at your wife is to see her as a tender, young plant that requires loving care.  We need to encourage and affirm her gifts so that she can be everything God intended her to be.  I should rejoice over her successes and not be threatened or react competitively. 

Liz:   The bottom line for every husband is to encourage, nourish & protect his wife as he does his own body. 

John:   Ladies…it’s just not natural for us men to express ourselves in this way.  This is hard work!

Liz:   The wise wife will affirm her husband whenever he makes her feel special.  Let everything you say be good and helpful.  Get rid of bitterness and be kind and forgiving to one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.                (Eph. 4:29-31) NLT
